Application Process

What is the Merchant Processing Application Process Like?

So you think you’re ready to apply but you want to see what an application is going to look like first. I have attached a real life application for a random processor called OnePay. We personally do not work with them, nor do we know enough to comment on them. It is however, a good example of a real application. DOWNLOAD SAMPLE APPLICATION HERE

Your signature/initials are only required on the first few pages normally. Your costs SHOULD be visible. On the top of Page 2 in this example, your terms would be filled in:

NOTICE BELOW THAT GRID WHERE YOUR RATES WILL BE, THERE IS SOME FINE PRINT THAT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE BOX ABOVE. DON’T OVERLOOK THIS BOX! It states:

This fine print box is telling you the following:
  • Mid Qualified Rate is (Your Qualified Rate + 1.99% + 10 more cents)
  • Non Qualified Rate is (Your Qualified Rate + 1.99% + 10 more cents)
  • Support fee of .45% per transaction
  • 35 cent fee for each settled batch
  • $79 Annual fee (billed within the first 90 days after you sign up and then once a year thereafter)
  • A $295 Cancellation Fee
  • A 3 year contract term
This is not stuff you want to gloss over now that it’s broken down like that.
